Indigenous culture in a 4x4 (full day)

Authentic, ethnic, cultural.nature.

An exceptional ride up the Cangrejal river valley to the end of the road, experiencing how the indigenous people of the villages live. Awe-inspiring views, at the fringe of Pico Bonito National Park. For those who want to experience other cultures!

From the Omega Jungle Lodge we drive in our 4x4 upriver to a farmer village called Rio Viejo (look out for the awesome views throughout the entire drive). Here three rivers confluence all in one spot to become the Cangrejal river. We ride further up valley through the farmer village of Yaruca, the wood cutter village of Toncontin and finally the last village at the end of the road; Urraco, which is almost at the peak of Gracias A Dios mountain range.

On our way back we have a drink in a typical Pulperia, if you speak a bit of Spanish, you’ll have a quick conversation with the very friendly locals. Optional we take a little walk on a beautiful nature path, finding the perfect spot for a bath in a small crystal-clear river.
